La Manzanilla is a sheltered bay on Mexico's Pacific coast facing northwest into relatively protected waters. The spot features a sandy beach backed by residential development, with a small lagoon visible in the northern section. The bay is partially enclosed by rocky headlands, particularly at the southern point, which provides some wind acceleration but limits swell exposure.
This location is fundamentally challenged by extremely low wind reliability (0.2%) and minimal average wave height (1.26m), making consistent kitesurfing difficult. Wind conditions are marginal year-round. When winds do occur, north or northeast directions would be side-shore across the beach. The shallow bay limits wave development, though protected waters may suit very beginner progression in rare favorable wind windows.
The spot works best for absolute beginners during the occasional north wind days when water is calm and sheltered. However, the combination of unreliable wind, small waves, and crowded beach access makes this a secondary option. Kiters should scout conditions carefully and consider nearby alternative spots with better wind exposure and fetch.
