Glantan is a coastal beach break located on Sweden's northeastern coast facing east toward the Gulf of Bothnia. The spot features an extensive shallow water zone with visible tidal flats, sandbars, and scattered vegetation-covered islands. The wide, gently sloping beach transitions into a complex system of shallow channels and mudflats typical of high-latitude Baltic coastal morphology.
This location offers extremely benign conditions suitable only for beginners or light-wind enthusiasts. The minimal average wave height (0.38m) and very low wind reliability (4.8%) indicate this is not a primary kitesurfing destination. Best wind direction is from the north (side-shore), creating parallel flow along the east-facing shore. However, prevailing conditions appear insufficient for consistent kitesurfing sessions.
Kiters should expect soft landing surfaces, shallow water requiring careful equipment management, and extended low-wind periods. The spot may be viable only during occasional strong northerly or southerly wind events. Water temperatures are cold year-round, requiring thermal protection.
