Lake Oberhain is an inland water body in central Germany traversed by a major highway bridge. The lake features a north-south orientation with multiple vegetated islands and peninsulas creating a segmented water layout. The eastern shore faces open water with agricultural fields, while the western shore includes industrial development. Wind conditions are marginal for kitesurfing, with average wind speeds of 4.4 knots and only 1.2% wind reliability, making this spot unreliable for consistent sessions. The presence of the highway bridge, numerous islands, and vegetation-lined shorelines creates navigation challenges and limited fetch for wind development. Water temperatures average 10.9°C, requiring thermal protection. Best wind would come from the south (180°) for side-shore conditions along the eastern bank. This spot is suitable only for beginner kiters during rare strong wind events, as consistent conditions are insufficient. The fragmented layout and obstacles make this a challenging environment compared to open water venues. Not recommended as a primary kitesurfing destination.
