Lome Beach is a sandy beach break located on the Gulf of Guinea coast in southern Togo, with the shoreline facing south toward the Atlantic Ocean. The spot features a gently sloping sandy bottom with a shallow lagoon system behind the beach, bordered by mangrove vegetation. Wave conditions are minimal, averaging under 1 meter, making this primarily a light-wind beach break. The critical limitation for kitesurfing is the exceptionally low wind reliability at just 0.2%, meaning usable wind days are extremely rare. When conditions do align, side-shore winds from the east or west would be preferred. The shallow lagoon areas offer some protection but require careful navigation to avoid seagrass and mangrove obstacles. This spot is best suited for beginners during the occasional strong wind periods, though consistent sessions are not realistic. Water temperatures average 28.6°C, providing warm conditions. Kiters should expect very infrequent riding opportunities and should focus on alternative locations with higher wind reliability for regular practice.
