Scauri is a small sheltered bay located on the southern coast of the Campania region, facing east into the Tyrrhenian Sea. The spot is characterized by a sandy beach flanked by residential development and a shallow, protected bay. The eastern orientation provides some natural wind funnel potential from prevailing westerlies, making northerly winds (cross-offshore) the most suitable approach for side-shore conditions. However, the location faces significant constraints: average wind speeds of 4.4 knots are well below the 10-12 knot minimum required for kitesurfing, and wind reliability is extremely poor at 1.2%. Wave generation is minimal due to the bay's enclosed nature and limited fetch, with average heights of 0.54 meters. Small craft facilities and breakwater structures on the western side present navigation hazards. This spot is primarily suitable for learning in very light wind conditions or cross-training, rather than regular freestyle or wave riding. Best conditions would require northerly winds of at least 12+ knots, which occur rarely at this location.
