Xichong is a sheltered bay located on the southern coast of mainland China, characterized by a northeast-facing shoreline with multiple sandy beaches and rocky headlands. The spot sits within a larger protected bay system with varied water depths, transitioning from shallow lagoon-like conditions in the upper bay to deeper open water. The enclosed geography provides significant wind obstruction from surrounding landmasses, contributing to very low wind reliability (1.4%). Flat water conditions (0.30m average) indicate minimal swell exposure, making this primarily a flat-water kitesurfing destination. Best conditions occur with northwesterly winds that run parallel to the main beach axis. The shallow, protected nature and calm conditions suit beginner and early-intermediate riders developing flat-water skills. Rocky features, shallow areas, and coastal development require careful route planning. Wind consistency is a major limitation, with this location experiencing very few suitable wind days annually. The spot works best during seasonal wind windows when northwesterly flows align with the coast.
