Gilligan's Island is a small lagoon located off the north coast of Puerto Rico, characterized by enclosed, shallow waters surrounded by dense mangrove forest and residential development. The lagoon features multiple rocky outcroppings and reef structures visible in the satellite imagery, with water depths appearing limited across most of the bay. The northeast-facing coastline orientation and constrained geography create a protected but very confined water body with minimal fetch distance. Wind reliability is extremely low at 0.8%, and the small enclosed lagoon offers limited space for maneuvering. Average wind speeds of 5.7 knots are below typical kitesurfing minimums. Best conditions would occur with northwesterly winds (315°), which approach side-shore relative to the main coastline. This spot is suitable only for beginners in very light wind conditions, though such conditions rarely occur. The numerous shallow areas, rocks, and reef hazards require careful navigation. The lagoon's small size and shallow depth make it challenging for sustained riding. This location is better suited for light wind experimentation than serious practice.
