Natadola is a protected lagoon on Viti Levu's southwestern coast, facing northwest toward open ocean. The spot features a shallow, enclosed water body with sandy bottom areas interspersed with coral formations. White-sand beaches border forested terrain, creating a scenic but technically challenging environment for kitesurfing. The lagoon's shallow depth (averaging 2-6 meters) and reef obstacles make this primarily a beginner-friendly location with predictable, gentle conditions. Northeast winds provide optimal side-shore conditions, though wind reliability is extremely low at 4.4% annually, with average winds of only 5.8 knots. The small average wave height of 1.66m limits progression but suits learners. Visibility into the reef system is excellent, allowing kiters to identify and navigate around hazards. Best conditions occur during winter months (June-August) when trade winds strengthen slightly. The spot works well for flat-water freestyle practice and learning fundamentals, though lack of wind and wave exposure means riders seeking stronger conditions should look elsewhere.
