Plesheevo Lake is a freshwater inland lake located in central Russia, approximately 150km northeast of Moscow. The lake offers a large, enclosed water body suitable for kitesurfing practice. The southern shoreline faces north toward open water, making easterly or westerly winds ideal for side-shore conditions. However, this spot presents significant limitations for serious kitesurfing due to exceptionally low wind reliability (only 1.5%) and marginal average wind speeds of 5.2 knots—well below the 10-12 knot minimum typically required for comfortable kitesurfing. Water temperatures averaging 6°C restrict seasonal use to warmer months and require heavy thermal protection. The lake's inland location provides protection from ocean swell but eliminates wave riding opportunities. This spot is best suited for beginners practicing in flat-water conditions when wind cooperates, or for winter activities when the lake freezes. Kitesurfers should verify current weather conditions before attempting sessions, as reliable wind days are rare.
