Acciaroli

Acciaroli is a small coastal settlement on the Cilento coast of southern Italy, situated in a shallow bay with a protected marina at its southern end. The spot features a northwest-facing shoreline with a sandy beach transitioning to residential areas and green hillsides inland. A shallow lagoon system and breakwater structures dominate the southern marina area, while the northern section offers more open beach access. Water conditions are typically light with small swell averaging 0.60m. The spot functions primarily as a sheltered bay rather than an exposed ocean break. Wind conditions are extremely unreliable at 1.4% consistency with low average wind speeds of 4.5 knots, making this a challenging location for kitesurfing. When northeast winds (45°) occur, they align side-shore to the beach. The presence of boats, shallow areas, and marina infrastructure limits safe riding zones to the northern beach section. This spot suits only beginners during rare favorable wind windows, and practitioners should expect many sessions with insufficient wind. The low reliability and light conditions make this a secondary option rather than a dedicated kitesurfing destination.
