Anvils is a bay-style kitesurfing spot on the southern coast of Western Australia, sheltered by rocky headlands and surrounded by dense forest. The bay features a curved sandy beach with a distinctive pale sand crescent backed by dramatic cliff faces and forested terrain. The spot is characterized by moderate wave heights (2.25m average) and rough water conditions typical of southern Australian coasts. The narrow entrance between rocky points creates channeled currents and wind acceleration effects. With only 3.8% wind reliability and an average of 6.8 knots, conditions are marginal and inconsistent. Northerly winds (approximately 20°) provide the most suitable side-shore approach. The shallow bay water and nearby reef formations require careful navigation. This spot suits intermediate kiters comfortable with technical conditions, variable wind, and rocky terrain awareness. Best sessions occur during rare high-wind periods when pressure systems push stronger winds from the north.
