Ap Thien Ai

Ap Thien Ai is a sheltered bay in southern Vietnam with a gently curving coastline facing south toward the South China Sea. The spot features a wide sandy beach backed by developed residential areas and some remaining vegetation. A protected lagoon environment dominates the immediate riding area, with shallow water extending from shore. This is a light-wind, beginner-friendly location suitable for learning kitesurfing fundamentals. Ideal conditions occur with easterly or westerly winds providing side-shore flow. The extremely low wind reliability (15.3%) and minimal wave generation (0.71m average) make this primarily a light-wind freestyle and progression spot rather than a wave-riding venue. The choppy, shallow water works well for controlled practice but offers limited wave structure. Best suited for beginners seeking protected conditions and light-wind specialists. Kiters should expect very limited session availability and should focus on technique development rather than wave performance.
