Bayley Road is a beach break located on the west-facing coast of New Zealand's North Island, near the Tasman Sea. The area is characterized by low-lying pastoral land transitioning to developed residential properties immediately adjacent to the beach. Waves average 2.06m with rough water conditions. Wind reliability is notably low at 29.4%, with average wind speeds of 9.9 knots, making consistent sessions challenging. Side-shore conditions occur with northerly winds (0°), providing the safest and most manageable wind direction for kitesurfing. The shallow tidal flats offer forgiving conditions suitable for beginners and early intermediates, though riders must be aware of rapidly changing water depths and tidal movements. The proximity of structures and fencing requires careful launch and landing planning. Best sessions occur during spring tides with northerly wind.
