Canyon Drive Park

Canyon Drive Park is located on the Oregon coast facing west toward the Pacific Ocean. This beach break features a sandy beach with rocky sections interspersed throughout the nearshore area. The spot is characterized by moderate wave exposure with an average swell of 2.04 meters. The area is heavily developed with residential properties and commercial structures immediately adjacent to the beach, limiting space for setup and movement. Wind conditions are marginal, with very low reliability (7.0%) and light average wind speeds of 6.9 knots. Optimal conditions would require northerly winds (side-shore orientation) to align parallel with the west-facing coastline. Water conditions tend toward rough with cold temperatures averaging 11.2°C. The spot is best suited for beginner to intermediate kiters during the infrequent windows when adequate wind develops. Access may be challenging due to residential density. Hazards include scattered rocks in the water, shallow zones, and limited room to maneuver. This location is marginal for serious kitesurfing practice.
