Changi Beach

Changi Beach is located in northeastern Singapore, situated within a bay protected by the adjacent Changi Airport complex and industrial port infrastructure. The coastline faces northeast, with the Straits of Johor providing the water body. This is a protected bay environment characterized by flat water, minimal swell, and extremely low wave heights averaging 0.19m. The spot operates in a high-traffic maritime zone with frequent boat movements and port operations visible in the satellite imagery. Wind conditions are weak and highly unreliable (0.0% reliability), with average winds only 4.8 knots—insufficient for most kitesurfing. The flat water and industrial setting make this location unsuitable as a primary kitesurfing destination. Ideal wind would be side-shore from the southeast (135°) parallel to the northeast-facing coast. Best conditions occur during stronger monsoon periods, though even then wind reliability remains poor. This spot suits only experienced kiters willing to accept minimal wind and flat-water conditions, or those using it as a training area during rare stronger wind events. The proximity to port operations and shallow areas requires constant awareness of marine traffic.
