Cove Bay

Cove Bay is a sheltered bay system on the northeastern coast of Anguilla featuring a main protected bay connected to a large inner lagoon. The spot comprises two distinct water bodies separated by shallow channels and rocky formations. The outer bay provides deeper water with better wave development, while the inner lagoon offers extremely shallow, protected conditions suitable only for light-wind practice. The northeast-facing orientation creates a natural wind corridor. Prevailing trade winds from the northeast provide regular side-shore conditions when approaching from the northwest (315°). The spot's low average wave height (1.04m) and moderate wind reliability (55.6%) make it suitable for beginners and intermediate riders seeking protected conditions. Water remains relatively warm year-round at 27.2°C. Kiters should be aware of shallow reef and rocky areas, particularly in the lagoon section, and exercise caution around residential development. The spot works best during trade wind season with consistent northeastern flow.
