Coverack

Coverack is a beach break located on Cornwall's southeastern coast facing northeast toward the Atlantic. The spot consists of a sandy beach flanked by rocky headlands, creating a natural amphitheater that channels swell and wind. The beach faces approximately 50° (northeast), making it directly exposed to Atlantic groundswell and weather systems. Side-shore winds from the southwest (approximately 230°) provide optimal conditions for kitesurfing, keeping riders safely positioned along the beach without pushing them toward hazards. The spot experiences moderate wave heights averaging 1.83m with variable wind reliability at 43.2%. Water temperatures around 12°C require appropriate thermal protection. Coverack suits intermediate riders comfortable with beach breaks and moderate Atlantic swells. The presence of rocky outcrops at both ends of the beach and submerged rocks near the shore requires careful entry and exit planning. Launching and landing should focus on the central sandy beach section.
