Coxs Bazar

Cox's Bazar is a long sandy beach on the Bay of Bengal coast in southeastern Bangladesh, oriented northwest-southeast with water facing southwest. The spot features a gently sloping sandy bottom with shallow water extending considerable distance from shore. The area is heavily developed with residential buildings, hotels, and commercial structures immediately inland, limiting available space for launching and landing. The beach break produces small, inconsistent waves typical of low-swell environments. Wind reliability is extremely poor at 3.6%, making this a challenging spot for consistent kitesurfing sessions. Average wind speed of 5.4 knots is marginal for most kites. Best conditions occur with northeast wind (side-shore). Water temperatures average 26.7°C year-round. This spot is most suitable for absolute beginners during rare strong wind days, though conditions are generally unreliable. The shallow water and developed coastline create significant constraints.
