Deca Plage

Deca Plage is a sandy beach break on the Algerian Mediterranean coast facing north toward open water. The spot features a wide sandy shoreline backed by residential development and agricultural fields. The beach shows a gently sloping profile with shallow nearshore waters. Best wind direction for side-shore conditions would be from the east or west, with easterly winds being preferable for offshore flow characteristics. However, this spot suffers from extremely poor wind reliability at only 1.6% annually, with average winds of 4.5 knots—below the typical 10-12 knot minimum for kitesurfing. Average wave heights of 0.77m are minimal for the sport. This location suits only beginners during the rare stronger wind events, as light swell and consistent light winds make progression difficult. The shallow water and proximity to developed areas limit maneuverability. Kiters should only attempt this spot during forecasted stronger wind days and should check local conditions carefully before committing.
