Delma Island

Delma Island lagoon is a shallow, protected water body on the western coast of the island facing west toward the Persian Gulf. The spot features extensive sandy shallows with visible sandbars and evidence of aquaculture or salt pond infrastructure along the shoreline. As a lagoon environment, it offers extremely calm, choppy conditions with minimal wave development, making it unsuitable for wave riding but potentially viable for flat-water freestyle or light wind practice. Wind reliability is very low at 19.6%, indicating this location experiences marginal wind conditions throughout most of the year with average winds under 9 knots. The protected nature of the lagoon provides a safe environment for beginners learning basic kitesurfing skills, as there is reduced exposure to strong currents and significant wave hazards. Best conditions occur during northerly winds (side-shore orientation). The shallow water demands caution regarding shallow-water riding and obstacles. This spot suits absolute beginners in light wind conditions only; intermediate and advanced kiters should seek more exposed, windy locations.
