Grönwohldt is a sheltered lagoon-style spot located on the Baltic coast of northern Germany, formed by a barrier beach separating inland water from the sea. The site features a developed residential area adjacent to a narrow water channel bordered by dense forested areas. The lagoon environment provides protection from open ocean swells, resulting in minimal wave activity (0.32m average). Water conditions are characteristically choppy due to fetch limitations and wind interaction with surrounding land features. The spot suits beginners due to calm conditions and absence of significant swell, though the narrow channel constrains maneuverability. Wind reliability is modest at 20.9%, and side-shore conditions from the northeast (45°) or southwest (225°) are most suitable for safe kitesurfing. Water temperatures average 10.2°C, requiring thermal protection. The surrounding residential development and limited fetch distance mean this spot is best utilized during higher wind days. Kiters should be aware of shallow areas, vegetation, and the confined space of the lagoon channel.
