Habo Ljung is a sheltered lagoon located on the southern coast of Sweden near Kristianstad. The lagoon faces southward, bordered by residential development on the eastern shore and dense forest on the western side. This is a protected, shallow-water environment typical of the Scanian coastal region. The spot offers calm, choppy conditions suitable for beginners learning fundamentals. Best wind direction is from the east (90°), providing reliable side-shore conditions parallel to the main launching beach. The lagoon's shallow depth and limited fetch result in very small wave development (0.36m average), making it unsuitable for wave riding. Wind conditions are inconsistent, with only 26.3% reliability and average speeds of 9.7 knots. The spot works best during rare high-wind periods. Beginner kiters will benefit from the protected, shallow environment, but intermediate and advanced riders should seek coastal spots with stronger, more consistent wind. Winter temperatures average 10°C, requiring appropriate thermal protection. Limited infrastructure and residential proximity require respectful beach etiquette.
