Henderson Point is located on the Mississippi River delta system in southeastern Louisiana, where a curving bay faces east toward the Gulf of Mexico. The spot features a protected bay environment with flat water conditions, making it suitable primarily for flat-water freestyle and light-wind practice. The coastline is heavily developed with residential properties, marinas, and infrastructure visible throughout. Water conditions are typical of delta environments—shallow, murky, and subject to significant tidal influences. With average wind reliability of only 5.1% and winds averaging 7 knots, this spot operates well below most kitesurfing minimums. Best conditions occur with northerly winds providing side-shore angles. The shallow depth and soft bottom composition offer some appeal for beginners when adequate wind arrives, but the low frequency of suitable conditions, minimal wave action, and development-related hazards make this a secondary choice. More consistent alternatives exist elsewhere in the Gulf region.
