Illetas is a narrow lagoon-style kitesurfing spot located off the Spanish coast near Ibiza. The site features a distinctive elongated sand bar separating shallow turquoise lagoon waters from the Mediterranean Sea. The geography creates a protected channel environment with steep depth transitions on either side. This spot suits beginners and early intermediates due to manageable wave heights and protected conditions within the lagoon. The shallow water and sand bottom provide safety margins for progression. Wind reliability is relatively low at 18.2%, requiring patience for suitable conditions. Prevailing winds from the east would provide optimal side-shore conditions. The spot experiences minimal swell (0.69m average) and pleasant water temperatures around 19.9°C. Kiters should be aware of boat traffic in adjacent anchorages, the rock formations bordering the lagoon, and potential current dynamics within the narrow passage. Best sessions occur during stable easterly wind patterns in summer months when conditions align.
