Khao Takiab Bay is a sheltered bay on Thailand's eastern Gulf coast facing east toward the Andaman Sea. The bay is protected by a rocky headland to the north and features a sandy beach with extensive residential and resort development along the shoreline. The water is generally shallow with choppy conditions typical of tropical bays. This is a protected water body rather than open ocean, offering calmer conditions but limited wind consistency. North and south winds are side-shore to this eastward-facing bay. The spot suits beginners due to shallow water and enclosed nature, though very low wind reliability (0.5%) and weak average wind speed (5.2 knots) make it marginal for kitesurfing most days. Seasonal monsoon patterns likely provide better windows. Kiters should be aware of shallow depths, boat traffic near the beach, and rocky areas on the northern headland. This location appears better suited for learning in protected conditions during stronger seasonal winds rather than as a regular spot.
