Kranevo

Kranevo is a small bay located on Bulgaria's Black Sea coast, oriented westward with relatively protected waters. The spot features a shallow lagoon-like bay with visible breakwater infrastructure and a developed residential area immediately inland. The water is sheltered, resulting in minimal wave energy and very small average swell. Wind reliability is notably low at 10.9%, making consistent sessions challenging. Average winds of 7.5 knots are marginal for kitesurfing and often require thermal or sea-breeze assistance. The bay's protected nature and shallow depths make it suitable for beginners when wind is available, but shallow areas present grounding hazards. The proximity of residential development, visible piers, and recreational infrastructure limits the usable area. Best conditions occur with northerly to northeasterly winds. This spot is most viable during summer months when thermal winds develop, rather than relying on consistent pressure systems. The site is better suited for light-wind progression and flat-water practice than for reliable regular sessions.
