Kuredu Island

Kuredu Island is a developed resort island in the North Male Atoll of the Maldives, surrounded by a shallow lagoon system. The island's elongated shape with a south-southeast facing shoreline provides access to protected lagoon waters bordered by coral reef structures. This is a classic tropical atoll lagoon environment with turquoise shallow water (1-3 meters depth in most areas) and sand/coral bottom composition. The lagoon setting offers a sheltered environment suitable for learning, with the reef perimeter providing some protection from open ocean swell. However, limited fetch within the lagoon restricts wave development. The consistent northeast/southwest trade wind pattern typical of the Maldives during dry season (November-April) would provide best side-shore conditions from the northeast. Water temperatures remain warm year-round at approximately 28°C. This spot suits beginner to early intermediate riders due to shallow, protected conditions and minimal swell.
