Ladies Mile

Ladies Mile is a shallow lagoon system on the southern coast of Cyprus facing east toward the Mediterranean. The spot features protected shallow waters separated from open ocean by a natural barrier beach, creating a sheltered lagoon environment. The water shows significant sediment plumes and color variation, indicating freshwater input, tidal movements, or algal conditions affecting visibility. The protected nature makes this suitable for beginner and intermediate kiters seeking calm water conditions. Best winds are from the south (180°), providing side-shore conditions parallel to the coastline. However, the extremely low wind reliability (3.3%) and light average wind speed (6.3 knots) present significant limitations. The shallow lagoon reduces wave exposure but demands awareness of underwater hazards and variable bottom conditions. Water temperatures average 21°C year-round. This spot is most practical during thermal wind days or when stronger systems push through. The enclosed lagoon provides a safe learning environment but limited progression opportunity for advanced riders.
