Las Americas

Las Americas is a bay-style kitesurfing spot located on the southwestern coast of Tenerife, Canary Islands. The coastline faces west toward the Atlantic Ocean, with two distinctive curved bays providing the primary water area. The spot is heavily developed with resort infrastructure, apartment complexes, and commercial facilities immediately adjacent to the beach. The twin bays offer somewhat protected conditions but with limited fetch distance. Prevailing winds from the north provide reliable side-shore conditions from this orientation. Water conditions are typically mild with small wave heights (1.1m average) and low wind reliability (1.8%), making this suitable primarily for beginners and light-wind conditions. The spot experiences significant tourist and water sports activity, including boat traffic and jet skis. Shallow areas within the bays require careful launching and landing. The rocky breakwater structures visible in the imagery present obstacles requiring awareness. Best suited for beginners practicing in calm conditions rather than progression or wave riding.
