L'Estartit

L'Estartit is a sheltered bay on the Costa Brava in northeastern Spain, featuring a long sandy beach with a well-developed marina to the north. The coastline faces east toward the Mediterranean Sea, with a protected bay configuration. The spot offers calm, shallow water conditions suitable for beginners and intermediates, though wind conditions are marginal with very low reliability and weak average wind speeds. Southerly winds (180°) provide the best side-shore conditions, though such winds are infrequent. The beach area is densely populated during summer months with significant boat traffic from the adjacent marina. Water conditions are characterized by rough chop rather than organized wave patterns. This location suits progression riders seeking protected conditions and sandy landings, but experienced kiters seeking strong wind and wave action should look elsewhere. Best visited during shoulder seasons (spring/autumn) when wind patterns are more favorable and crowds diminish.
