Libagas Island

Libagas Island is a small Philippine island with a protected lagoon system on its western side facing the open ocean. The island features dense forest coverage with sandy beach access primarily on the western shore, which forms the main kitesurfing area. The lagoon provides relatively sheltered conditions compared to the exposed eastern waters, with a curved beach configuration offering natural wave dissipation. With average wind speeds of only 8.7 knots and 21.7% reliability, this is a light-wind spot suited primarily for beginners and early intermediates. The shallow, choppy waters with waves averaging 0.68m indicate inconsistent swell with local wind generation as the primary wave source. Best conditions occur with northerly winds providing side-shore flow parallel to the beach. Kiters should be aware of the limited size of the lagoon, shallow areas requiring careful navigation, and limited wind consistency. This spot works best during the dry season when more reliable wind patterns develop. Exit and entry points are restricted to the western beach access.
