Lingayen

Lingayen Bay is a large, shallow tropical bay on the northwest coast of Luzon, Philippines. The spot features a gently sloping sandy/muddy bottom typical of Philippine bays, with extensive fish farming operations visible throughout the water. The shoreline is heavily developed with residential areas interspersed with remaining mangrove forests. The bay opens northward to the South China Sea, providing long fetch potential. Water conditions are generally calm with small average swells (0.56m) and light winds averaging 5.8 knots. The primary limitation is extremely low wind reliability at only 1.8%, making consistent sessions rare. Best conditions occur with easterly winds that blow side-shore across the bay. The shallow bay provides a forgiving learning environment with minimal hazardous currents, though kiters should navigate around fish farm structures. This spot suits beginner-level kiters during rare favorable wind windows, though the consistent lack of wind makes it unsuitable for regular progression.
