Llico is a protected bay on Chile's central coast featuring a lagoon system separated from the Pacific Ocean by a natural barrier. The spot comprises a calm inner lagoon with greenish water and a more exposed outer section facing the open ocean. The lagoon's shallow, sediment-rich character creates murky conditions typical of estuarine environments. Coastal forest dominates the landward side, providing wind shadow effects. Best conditions occur with northeasterly winds (45°) that blow side-shore across the bay entrance, though the extremely low wind reliability (2.0%) makes this spot marginal for consistent kitesurfing. Average wind of 4.9 knots is minimal for the sport. Wave heights average 1.71m but are inconsistent due to bay protection. Suitable primarily for beginners or those practicing in light wind conditions during rare favorable windows.
