The bay opens to the north with moderate fetch, though nearby land features and reef structures limit wind power. Average wind conditions are marginal at 11.5 knots with only 42% reliability, making this primarily a light-wind spot. Easterly winds provide the best side-shore alignment for the south-facing shoreline. The shallow, protected nature makes it suitable for beginners and intermediates, though the low wind speeds mean sessions require either strong wind days or lighter equipment. The immediate proximity of the airport runway presents a unique hazard, with aircraft operations a constant consideration. Rocky areas and reef along the eastern shore require awareness.
