Majanicho

Majanicho is a shallow bay located on the northwest coast of Fuerteventura, Spain, characterized by protected waters surrounded by arid desert terrain. The bay opens toward the northeast with a gently sloping sandy bottom and scattered shallow areas. The spot functions as a sheltered lagoon-style environment with moderate wave exposure from Atlantic swells. Best conditions occur with northwest winds (315°) that blow parallel to the coastline, providing safe side-shore conditions. The low wind reliability (32.3%) and modest average swell (1.65m) indicate this is primarily a light-wind spot suited for beginners and intermediate kiters. The shallow, protected nature makes it ideal for learning and progression, though limited fetch means stronger winds are needed to generate adequate power. Water conditions are rough due to tidal movements and shallow bathymetry. Kiters should be aware of sandbars, rocky formations near the coast, and tidal currents at the bay entrance. The spot works best during Atlantic high-pressure systems delivering consistent northwest winds.
