Marina di Grosseto

Marina di Grosseto is a sheltered lagoon spot located on the Tuscan coast in central Italy. The lagoon faces west toward the Tyrrhenian Sea, with a shallow sandy bottom typical of Mediterranean lagoon environments. The spot is characterized by calm, protected waters bounded by developed beachfront to the north and extensive maritime pine forests inland to the east. A marina with multiple breakwaters and moored vessels occupies the central area, creating significant navigation hazards. Best conditions occur with northerly winds providing side-shore flow parallel to the coast. This spot is most suitable for beginners and intermediate kiters seeking flat-water conditions and lighter wind sessions. However, extremely low wind reliability (4.7%) makes consistent sessions unlikely. Water temperatures average 17°C and wave heights are minimal (0.51m). Kiters must navigate around boat traffic, respect swimming areas, and be aware of the shallow nature of the lagoon which limits water space and increases congestion.
