Nu'ulua Island

Nu'ulua Island is a small, heavily forested island off the coast of Samoa surrounded by open Pacific Ocean. The island features steep, rocky coastlines with white water breaking around most shores, indicating shallow reef systems and strong swell exposure. The northeast-facing shore offers the most accessible water approach with a turquoise lagoon area visible on the eastern side. This is an exposed open-ocean spot with consistent Pacific swell and significant wave energy averaging 1.86m, though conditions are often larger. Wind reliability is relatively low at 38.6%, with average winds around 10.7 knots. Best conditions occur with northwest winds providing side-shore orientation. The spot suits advanced to expert kiters only due to strong currents, rocky hazards, limited entry/exit zones, and heavy swell exposure. Water conditions are rough with limited protection. Access requires boat transport from Samoa mainland. Not recommended for beginners or intermediate riders due to isolation, hazardous landing areas, and demanding sea conditions.
