The coastline faces westward toward the water, with extensive residential, camping, and forested areas backing the shore. This provides limited suitable launch and landing areas for kiters. The bay's enclosed nature creates choppy water conditions rather than organized swell, making it better suited for freestyle and flat-water riding than wave riding. Side-shore wind from the north is optimal for this west-facing coast. With average wind speeds of 8.8 knots and only 18.5% wind reliability, sessions are inconsistent. The spot works best for beginners and intermediate kiters seeking a protected, sheltered environment. Water temperatures average 9.5°C, requiring proper thermal protection outside summer months. Small waves averaging 0.46m confirm the bay's lack of ocean swell exposure. Kiters should expect to share space carefully with residential areas and secure permission where necessary.
