Pak Nam Bran

Pak Nam Bran is a shallow coastal bay in southern Thailand facing east toward the Gulf of Thailand. The spot features a gently sloping sandy bottom with mangrove-lined shores and residential development along the coast. Water conditions are predominantly flat with minimal wave generation due to limited fetch and natural wave dissipation. The bay receives very low wind reliability at only 0.5%, with average winds of just 5.2 knots, making consistent sessions unlikely. Average water temperature of 27.8°C supports year-round activity when conditions align. This location suits only beginner kiters during the rare windows of adequate wind, as the flat water prevents wave riding. The shallow bay offers inherent safety but limits progression. Side-shore wind from the north would provide optimal safety orientation. Navigation requires awareness of local boat traffic, shallow sandbars that shift seasonally, and mangrove obstacles near shore. The weak wind reliability makes this spot unreliable for dedicated practice or progression.
