Pedreña is a river estuary spot located in northern Spain near the Cantabrian coast. The site sits within a narrow river channel that flows northeast toward open water, with a small marina and mooring field on the southern bank. The water body transitions from shallow estuary to deeper river channels, creating variable conditions. The spot is sheltered by surrounding terrain and experiences moderate tidal influence. Best conditions occur with northeast winds providing side-shore flow across the narrow channel. The limited fetch and constrained space make this primarily a beginner-friendly spot suitable for progression and light wind sessions. Kiters should account for river current, tidal changes, shallow sandbanks visible in the imagery, and active boat traffic from the marina. The narrow channel limits downwind distance and provides natural boundaries. Water temperatures typical of the Cantabrian region (around 15°C) require seasonal wetsuit consideration. This spot works best during lighter wind periods when stronger coastal breaks are too intense.
