Puro

Puro is a sheltered bay on the eastern coast of the Philippines, characterized by two distinct water bodies separated by a sandy peninsula. The upper lagoon offers extremely shallow, protected water suitable for learning, while the lower bay provides slightly more exposure. The spot is bounded by residential development to the northwest and forested terrain to the south and east. The bay's northeast-facing orientation and enclosed geography create naturally moderated conditions. Prevailing northwest winds would provide side-shore (parallel) flow across the bay axis. However, the very low wind reliability (4.2%) and minimal wave height (1.21m average) indicate this is primarily a light-wind destination. The shallow lagoon area requires careful navigation around sandbars and submerged features. Best suited for beginners seeking protected, flat-water conditions during rare favorable wind windows. Strong thermal afternoon breezes may develop due to land heating. Not recommended during monsoon reversal periods when conditions become marginal.
