Ram Pung Beach

Ram Pung Beach is a sheltered coastal site on Thailand's Gulf coast facing westward toward open water. The spot features a sandy beach with immediate access to shallow lagoon-like conditions, backed by dense tropical forest and developed infrastructure. The extremely flat water conditions (0.31m average) and critically low wind reliability (0.1%) make this location unsuitable for regular kitesurfing. Water temperatures average 28.1°C year-round, typical for Southeast Asian tropical coasts. The sheltered bay configuration and forest backdrop severely limit consistent wind delivery. When northerly winds do occur (side-shore), conditions may be marginal. The shallow waters and proximity to developed areas, including what appears to be farming facilities inland, create a congested environment. This spot is best suited only for absolute beginners in rare favorable wind conditions, though practitioners should expect predominantly windless sessions. The site would be more appropriate for learning flat-water techniques rather than pursuing kitesurfing progression. Alternative, more exposed coastal locations would be significantly more productive.
