Shipwreck Beach

Shipwreck Beach is located on Molokai's north shore, facing northeast toward open ocean. The spot features a dramatic transition from forested highlands to rocky coastline with sandy beach breaks. The water shows significant chop and turbulence from exposure to trade winds and ocean swell. Visible reef and rock formations create complex water conditions requiring careful navigation. Best conditions occur with northwest winds (315°) providing side-shore flow along the northeast-facing coast. The extremely low wind reliability (12.2%) and variable conditions make this spot suitable for intermediate to advanced kiters comfortable with unpredictable wind patterns and rocky terrain. Water temperature averages 25.3°C. Wave heights are modest (0.91m average), but rough-chop conditions indicate strong currents and complex wind patterns. Access requires careful attention to shallow areas and reef hazards. This is not a beginner-friendly location due to navigation challenges and inconsistent wind.
