Torhamn Udde Blekinge

Torhamn Udde is a bay area located on the eastern coast of Blekinge, Sweden, facing west toward the Baltic Sea. The spot features a gently sloping sandy/muddy bottom with shallow waters extending several hundred meters offshore, creating a protected bay environment. The presence of scattered rocks and uneven bathymetry makes this primarily a flatwater or small-wave spot. With average winds of 10.5 knots and only 32.2% wind reliability, conditions are frequently marginal. Best conditions occur with northerly winds (side-shore), which allow safe launching and riding parallel to the coastline. The shallow, protected waters and low energy make this suitable for beginners and intermediate kiters practicing light-wind technique and body dragging. Kiters should be aware of the gradual depth profile requiring wading considerable distances to reach deeper water, rocky hazards requiring careful route planning, and the need for substantial patience given low wind frequency. Summer months likely provide best thermal wind development, though this remains a light-wind location overall.
