Travosa

Travosa is a shallow coastal lagoon in northeastern Brazil characterized by extensive sandbanks, seagrass beds, and tidal flats. The spot features a northeast-facing shoreline with a protected lagoon environment separated from open ocean by barrier islands and shallow water zones. Water clarity is variable due to sediment and organic material typical of lagoon ecosystems. The extremely light average swell (0.42m) and low wind reliability (4.5%) make this location challenging for consistent kitesurfing. When conditions align, southeast and southwest winds provide usable side-shore opportunities. The shallow water, abundant vegetation, and tidal dynamics create a complex riding environment. Best suited for beginners during rare favorable wind windows, as the spot demands knowledge of shallow-water navigation and tidal patterns. Water temperatures around 28°C are comfortable year-round. Strong tidal currents and shifting sandbanks require local knowledge. This is a specialist destination rather than a reliable training spot.
