Turudden

Turudden is a small bay spot on the east coast of Sweden, approximately 60km north of Stockholm. The location faces east toward the Baltic Sea with a rocky, irregular shoreline typical of the Swedish archipelago. The bay provides some protection from open ocean swell, resulting in choppy, small waves (0.43m average) better suited for flat-water practice than wave riding. The spot features a shallow approach with numerous rocks and boulders that require navigation. Wind reliability is notably low at 10.9%, making consistent sessions difficult to predict. Average wind speeds of 8 knots are marginal for kitesurfing, though northerly or southerly winds (side-shore) would offer the most usable conditions. The rocky bottom and shallow water make this suitable primarily for beginners or those practicing flat-water skills in light wind. Kiters should exercise caution around visible rock formations and plan sessions around the limited wind window. Summer conditions offer warmer water, though winter wind patterns may provide more reliable sessions.
