Amager Strand Park

Amager Strand Park is a sheltered lagoon system located on the eastern shore of Copenhagen's artificial peninsula. The lagoon configuration provides natural wind channeling and protection from heavy ocean swells, making it suitable for beginners and intermediate riders. Water conditions are typically choppy due to shallow depth and enclosed nature rather than swell-driven. Best wind conditions arrive from the north or south, which are side-shore relative to the east-facing lagoon. The spot's proximity to residential areas means consistent access but also requires awareness of user density. Shallow water depths (generally under 2 meters) demand careful navigation around submerged structures and groins. Wind reliability here is moderate at 26.3%, making this a location requiring patience for suitable sessions. The relatively flat water and protected environment make this ideal for progression rather than wave riding.
