Arenys de Mar

Arenys de Mar is a sheltered bay on the Catalan coast with a protected marina setup, facing southeast toward the Mediterranean. The spot features a wide sandy beach backed by dense residential development, with a working marina occupying the eastern portion of the bay. A series of breakwaters and jetties create a semi-enclosed anchorage, offering good protection from open ocean swell. The bay experiences light wind and minimal wave conditions overall, making it suitable primarily for beginners and light-wind specialists. Side-shore winds from the west-southwest (245°) provide the safest kitesurfing angle parallel to the coast. The primary constraints are the marina infrastructure, moored boats, and shallow water near the beach. The low wind reliability (1.1%) and small average swell (0.61m) indicate this is a marginal spot that works best during rare stronger wind events. Kiters should be aware of breakwater hazards, respect the active marina operations, and exit quickly if wind drops.
