Assateague Island

The spot experiences modest wind reliability at 7.6% and low average wave heights of 0.92m, making it suitable primarily for light wind sessions and beginners developing technique. Best conditions occur with northeast or southeast winds to ensure side-shore conditions parallel to the elongated island coastline. The shallow, sandy bottom and gradual depth transitions make this an accessible location for learning, though tidal currents and variable water depth require awareness. Kiters should monitor tide cycles, as the bay-facing side offers more protected conditions while the ocean side provides better wind exposure.
