Bawaki

Bawaki is located on Egypt's Red Sea coast in a shallow bay environment with mountainous terrain to the west. The coastline faces north toward the water, with a lagoon-like setting characterized by very shallow, flat conditions and minimal wave activity. The spot sits between significant desert topography and calm seawater typical of protected bay areas. However, this location is fundamentally unsuitable for kitesurfing due to critically low wind reliability at only 0.5% and average wind speeds of just 5.3 knots—both well below the 10-12 knot minimum required for the sport. The average wave height of 0.15m indicates essentially flat water conditions. While the shallow bay might theoretically suit beginners in appropriate wind conditions, the extremely sparse wind occurrence makes consistent training impossible. The road infrastructure visible suggests some accessibility, but the combination of inadequate wind, flat water, and shallow conditions means this spot should not be considered a viable kitesurfing destination.
